MOORDOWN TRADERS ASSOCIATION
Supporting & promoting Moordown's independent shops and service providers
We are constantly looking for new volunteers. Did you know that BSVI uses over 40 different volunteers each week and that very few of them are under 50 years old! Do you or anyone you know (friends, neighbours or relatives) have a few spare hours each week to help blind and partially sighted people, either at our centre in Moordown or in people's own homes?
We have a small team of dedicated staff but rely heavily on the goodwill of our volunteers to make every day special for visually impaired people living in Bournemouth and the surrounding areas. We are currently looking for Activity Assistants.

Can you help?
MTA member Lesley Dixon of Milburn Finance runs a successful business and active social life, and regularly attends our meetings with her dog, Rufus.
Lesley is partially deaf, and Rufus is a Hearing Dog - trained to alert her to important sounds and danger signals in her home, work place and public buildings.
In order to support the fantastic work that has given her the confidence, independence and companionship she enjoys, and bring it to the attention of Bournemouth people, Lesley and the local fundraising team for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People would love to have a stall at local fetes, fairs and other events, but they lack the volunteer support to do so.
If you can spare an hour or two 3-4 times a year, or know someone who might be able to, please contact Lesley for an informal chat:
Tel: 01202 558383
Mobile: 07808 486666 (text only please, and Lesley will call back on her landline)
